FUNCTION
FIRE - Using Heat and Smoke Sensors incorporated into Alarm Control Panel to a detect occurrence of fire, the receiver would be able to monitor the outbreak of any initial fire within the premise. Should both the sensors activate simultaneously a call would be made to the nearest Bomba for action. The Clients would not have to wait until the fire becomes significant enough for outsiders to notice before a call is made to the Bomba for assistance.
BURGLARY - Any activation of the alarm sensors and detectors could mean that the place have been broken into as the following equipment Motion Detectors, Door and Windows Contacts. Pressure Mats, Infra Red Sensors etc are being triggered. The combination of any two of the above would confirm that illegal activities has occurred. I.e. breach f security within the premises.
Even if any of the staff having possession of the correct keys to the premise wishes to enter the premises illegally after normal office hours, the Control Center will know who has performed the entry. Any switching off the local alarm system would be acknowledge by the computer.
The system consists of:
- A. A digital communicator to be installed at the client’s premise.
- B. A computerised High-Speed Multi-Receiver at our Control Office.
- C. A Central Processing Unit-Computer.
- D. A High-Speed Printer.
The above system can monitor on a nation-wide basis, using ordinary telephone lines, the following reporting can be monitored.
- A. Any triggering of Burglar Alarm Systems.
- B. Any triggering of Fire Alarm System.
- C. Instantaneous Security Clocking.
- D. Water Tanks Overflows.
- E. Industrial sensors for boilers, freezers/cold room air conditioning unitsetc.
If management’s policy is apprehension of suspects, the alarm need not be linked to the siren. The police upon notification, would be waiting for the suspects to come out of the building with all the evidence on hand.
If management’s policy is deterrence, that the various sensors could be linked to lighting and sound effects. The burglars in the midst of their crime, would get the shock of their lives when lights are switched on suddenly.
Armed Burglary - Taking precious lives into considerations, the alarm need not be linked to the local siren. Any activation of the panic button would result in the Police being informed. The staff and proprietor themselves could act very calmly without agitating the armed robbers, knowing that the professional help is on the way. This is definitely a far cry from previous cases where lives are lost because the robbers shoot indiscriminately when alarm is activated.
Medical Emergency - This is particularly useful for houses where the elderly and young children are left alone during the day. During moments of emergencies, it would be easier for the elderly and young children to activate a single button than to dial complicated telephone numbers.
Gas Leakage - For gases that are colorless and poisonous, the actual inhaling could immobile the inhabitant at the premises. Medical help would come too late. Should the gas sensors be activated in any part of the building, a telephone call to the inhabitant would avert any major disaster. Evacuation could be effected and professional help called in before a gas fire results.
Telephone Line - Because the Transmitter send out electrical impulse at regular intervals (programmable) to the local station, any disruption conceived to be irregular in the telephone lines could be detected before real emergencies occur. If telephone bills are not paid the cut would occur during the day. A check with Telekom would confirm the cut, but if the cut occurs during the night or on Public Holidays, something could be amiss.
Security Clocking - Instead of the normal Security Watchman’s Clock which is quite expensive and is being subjected to vandalism the installations of strategic “key Points” at the premise is cheaper and more effective.
The guards on duty no longer have to carry the bulky clock. All he needs is a key. If he missed a certain point at a specific time, our center would know because the computer had not received the “Clocking Signals”.
The Client or our Center need not have to wait until the next morning to find the guards gagged and tied up and the premise broken into. The guard officer could be informed of the non-clocking within an accepted time frame, and sent to investigate. Should anything be found to be miss, remedial action could be taken immediately, and not wait until the next morning.
Safety Sensors - Apart from the various security sensors, the Central Alarm Monitoring System could also be used to monitor Industrial Sensors. Boilers and commercial heaters could be monitored by thermostat or temperature sensors. Water tanks could be monitored by aqua-sensors etc. The center would contact the respective personnel should any of the sensors activate.
Air-conditioning units could also be monitored. If the thermostat registers extremely low temperature within a closed up area. We could know that the units had not been switched off.
The overall application of the system is tremendous. As long as there is a 24 hours monitoring events, be it security of safety, where professional assistance is only a telephone call away, the question of how fast and effective further losses could be prevented is answered.
